I know what you were thinking when the announcement was made of the PFL's first show.
Don't feel guilty though, because it is probably the same thought that swims through the mind of every MMA Journalist, Fight Fan, competitor and couch potato that has followed the sport long enough to watch the Elite XCs, IFLs, Afflictions, Rizins, Bellators and yes, even the WSOFs of the world, either die a slow painful death or consider to be a second fiddle product in comparison to Uncle Dana's playhouse:
"Yeah. but it's not the UFC."
And yes you are absolutely right, it is not the UFC, the product had the feeling of being nothing close to the...
It's the argument you most likely heard drunk males in there 20's discussing in finest Tapout t-shirts ironed by their mothers - Who could win in a battle between MMA Fighters and Boxers. Now, one could argue that Boxing is just one martial art that makes up the hundreds of styles that define a mixed martial artist so it was never a valid debate, but why let logic get in the way of a good article? So today, our mideons have complied a glorious list of Boxers who took this global dispute to heart, and decided to ditch the boxing gloves for fingerless noggin' knockers.
It seems like another former WWE superstar is leaving the squared circle for the octagon. Ryan Reeves, better known by his ring name “Ryback” is strongly considering a jump from the pro wrestling world to the world of MMA.

This is why we can't have nice things; As Dana White has just announced with a stone "My Girlfriend Cheated On Me" Face that Jon Jones has been pulled from UFC 200 due to a USADA Drug Test Violation.
This is the second time Jon Jones has been popped for a positive test, but what makes this occasion so special is it's the first time he will be yanked from a card for a positive "In Competition" Drug. This means "Bones" could be facing up to a two year suspension according to the head honcho.
Dana White has spoken to the media to address this situation:
Daniel Cormier has also spoken to Media to address this issue:
Make no mistakes about it - At UFC 200, Mark Hunt is fighting a Pro Wrestler.....A Pro Wrestler who is a former UFC World Champion, NCAA Champion, and has a giant knife on his chest because he's fucking crazy....but a pro wrestler never-the-less.
And Mark Hunt wants to make sure people realize this fact with posting a hilarious video created by our good friends at CraziestSportsFights.com:
Mike Roberts, manager of UFC competitor and Dancing with the Stars runner-up Paige VanZant, has announced in an interview with Fox Sports that WWE has reached out to his client about an appearance at SummerSlam. WWE confirmed Roberts's statements to The Wrestling Observer.
VanZant, 22, has been competing in mixed martial arts for four years, and in the UFC's Women's Strawweight Division for two. She has accumulated a 3-1 record for the MMA giant, with her sole UFC loss coming in her most recent fight, against Rose Namajunas.
Though VanZant has yet to challenge for a championship or headline a major show, she is one of the bes...
Despite having about 6 more months to go in the calendar year, UFC 199 could arguably be considered card of the year. From the possibility of Hendo’s final bout ending in spectacular vintage Dan Henderson fashion to Max Holloway’s “Lets Bang Bro” in the final 10 seconds of the fight, UFC 199 was not short of instant classic MMA moments (shout out to Michael Bisping finally getting his title shot and capturing UFC gold). Unfortunately UFC 199 may also be known as Ariel Helwani’s last live UFC show as he was banned for life from any future UFC events. The story has already begun to pick up traction, showing up in huge media outlets...
Well No Shit. Tonight it was made official at UFC 199, "The Beast" Brock Lesnar will be fighting at UFC 200 with an opponent not yet announced.
This will be Brock Lesnar's first fight back in the octagon since his defeat to Alistar Overeem in December 2011. And with a clause in Brock's current WWE Contract, "The Next Best Thing" can have his cake and eat it too.
More news to develop on this story as we march down the road to the biggest event in UFC History.
